Takayama’s installation features video interviews of junior high school pupils from Fukushima, Tokyo and Hiroshima speaking about their preferences, dreams and fears as well as their opinions on the current state of Japanese society. By giving them a platform to voice their opinions in the Referendem Project , Takayama involves the pupils in an artistic and social dialogue and moreover posits the utopian vision of theatre as a space of communication.
