If you run fast enough, no-one will know where you are

Jetse Batelaan/Theater Artemis

Nothing stands still. At no point in time. In Jetse Batelaan’s total choreography If you run fast enough, no one will know where you are, everyone - or better said: everything – is constantly in motion. Performers, costumes, objects, props, lights, sound and text, whether person or thing, everything is running, plunging, falling, crawling, crashing across the stage, heading inevitably towards the end of this break-neck show, and right on to the next performance. The audience (age 8 and up) are left behind bewildered and wondering: what just happened? If you don’t want to miss it, you have to really keep up.
Batelaan’s moving pieces have been awarded numerous prizes. He is artistic director of the Theater Artemis in ‘s-Hertogenbosch since 2013.
