Lou Doillon, fashion icon, model, artist, daughter of famous parents (Jane Birkin and Jacques Doillon) and since the beginning of the decade – shooting straight into the French Top 3 – is also a successful musician. In early February 2019, she released her third album under the quiet title of “Soliloquy”, containing a wide and diverse range of references: soul, trip-hop and reggae rhythms, which Doillon – who lived in the Caribbean for a while as a child – feels connected to, although she later mainly grew up with groups such as Massive Attack and Les Rita Mitsuko. While her love still steadfastly and audibly burns for Leonard Cohen, Van Morrison and Nick Drake, she has joined forces with exciting producers and Cat Power, who supports her on the album on the track “It’s You”. All this and more promises to be a cool concert under summery skies at the Palmengarten.
