“It’s ballroom time!” In cooperation with the Lesbisch Schwules Kulturhaus (LSKH) and the Verein zur Förderung der urbanen Tanzkultur (association for the promotion of urban dance culture), we offer a Voguing workshop. The workshop invites you to try out the different Voguing styles (Old Way, New Way, Vogue Femme, etc.) and gives an insight into the political history of this special movement practice that emerged in the queer ballroom scene in Harlem, New York in the 1970s. After the workshop on April 26th the LSKH and the Verein zur Förderung der urbanen Tanzkultur invite to a screening of the documentary classic “Paris Is Burning” by Jennie Livingston and a conversation on the subject of Voguing.
