The Grumbler’s Opera was originally conceived to give the cares and needs of the oppressed a singing voice and allow this to express itself in an unprecedented multi-form artwork. However – not least due to this noble ambition – the Grumbler’s Opera was never realized. Now the theatre collective FUX takes this considerable task upon itself in a fearless act of self-experiment. Entire political systems, the almonds missing from the stuffed olives or the unspeakable torments of love: anything can become the object of its musical suspicions.   Here there is complaining, moaning, whining and ranting and with the aid of the grumbling chorus and grumbling orchestra a whole musical genre is researched into existence. Because if ever a time was ripe for the Grumbler’s Opera, it’s now!
