Buttons & Tea. An electronic music workshop for everyone

Charlotte Simon

Charlotte Simon presents digital and analogue electronic musical instruments from 1975 -2020 and invites people over 65 (and younger) to experiment, make music and have a go at programming. During the three-hour workshop, Beethoven is run through the analogue sound synthesis machine, while you strut your stuff on the drum machine, modulate sequences as your sip tea or coffee and loop a variegated spectrum of colourful samples. The development of electronic music production has been rapid, eventful and above all entertaining since the creation of the first electronic film soundtrack – “Alarm in Space” (1956) by Louis & Bebe Barron. Charlotte will provide an overview.
