Dance in the 21st Century

Natalija Vladisavljević & Collaborators

—> 16.04.2023, 8.00 pm / with touchtour at 7 pm & audio description

“Dance makes sense when the body is in motion,” says Natalija Vladisavljević, author, dancer and choreographer of Dance in the 21st Century. Many words can be lost about dance while still missing the point, because “there's contemporary dance without music, or contemporary dance without dance.” This imposing piece posits a score that describes nothing less than what we call our present. Together with the disabled and non-disabled dancers of the dance and theatre collective Per.Art from Novi Sad, Serbia, she has created a poetic encyclopaedia and re-appropriation of dance: an alternative, poetic canon ranging from Nijinsky to Swan Lake that proposes a joyful and moving view of what dance could have been in the 21st century.
