“The Making of Pinocchio” is a story about true love and transformation based on the famous tale of the wooden puppet Pinocchio. In the setting of a film studio made of real and fake wood, Cade & MacAskill invite the audience to a behind-the-scenes look at the creative process of the piece and their relationship to each other. Artist* couple Rosana Cade and Ivor MacAskill began developing “The Making of Pinocchio” in 2018 in response to Ivor MacAskill's gender transition. They connect their own experiences to the magical story of the wooden puppet, who wants to be a “real boy”. What does it take to tell your own truth? Their story alternates between fantasy and authenticity, humour and intimacy, and can simultaneously be viewed on stage and on screen.

Quiet Space at Studio 1, first floor
--- Studio 1 is available as a retreat throughout the evening.
--- If you notice that you are feeling an overwhelming emotional reaction, you may contact the Wellbeing Practitioner, a trained contact person. This person will be introduced to you prior to the performance. She will be available to talk before and after the event in the Quiet Space at a separate area, and can be found in the foyer during the event.
Audio description
--- There is a live audio description in English for blind and visually impaired spectators preceded by a touch tour.
--- The touch tour begins at 7:00 p.m. and lasts approximately 15-20 minutes: The meeting point is in front of the entrance to the hall.
--- You will receive the receivers and headphones for the audio description at the entrance to the auditorium from the front-of-house staff.

German Sign Language
