Dancing empowers people – but what releases this feeling? Is it purely physical movement or is there more behind it when we train together, devise choreographies with diverse bodies or teach people to dance across generations? Forum Tanzvermittlung is an opportunity presented by Tanzplattform Rhein-Main that is open to experts from across the Rhine-Main region to exchange their observations about audience development and participation. As part of Tanzfestival Rhein-Main, the choreographer Patricia Carolin Mai will present principles and approaches to movement from her dance productions Hamonim, Und so kamen wir zusammen and Rausch. What potential for dance and communication lies in the transitions from one bodily state to the next – in those fleeting and transformative moments in between? Patricia Carolin Mai will also present the results of the EU project Empowering Dance, expose implicit forms of knowledge and facilitate a reflective approach to and practical application of soft skills in our own audience development practice.
