For the last edition of our “Sonic Sanctuaries” series, we invite the audiovisual artist Neo Geodesia from London to the Secret Salon. Born to Cambodian parents under the name Saphy Vong in a Thai refugee camp and raised in Nancy, France, he blends the most diverse facets of his personal and artistic biography into a polyphonic and polyrhythmic soundscape. In the process, fragments of electronic club music, sound experiments, Khmer folkloric music and a DIY mentality all intertwine. Saphy Vong also runs an international record label, called Chinabot, on which he releases and promotes artists from Southeast Asia and the Asian diaspora in Europe.

Before and after the live set, Tanzhaus West resident and co-initiator of the Frankfurt Flinta network “Club Cherry” Laurine Philippe will provide an appropriate acoustic setting.
