This summer, Europe will echo with the irresistible rhythms and unmistakable voice of contemporary Afro-Brazilian singer-songwriter Margareth Menezes. A one-of-a-kind performer, Margareth Menezes’ artistic offering affirms and gives voice to the national Afro-Brazilian scene. She is considered one of the principal representatives of Brazilian Afropop, a musical movement that draws from traditional and contemporary styles alike and that has defined Menezes’ artistic career. As one of Brazil's leading contemporary music artists, she promises to bring an unprecedented show to European stages. This tour will be the European debut of original compositions from her latest album, the Latin GRAMMY-nominated “Autêntica”. In addition, she will perform hits from throughout her decades-long musical career, as well as distinct interpretations of compositions by some of the Brazilian artists who have inspired her.

On stage, Menezes will manifest the power and charisma of Bahia’s diverse contemporary music scene. Her tour will honor the work of blocos afro Olodum, Muzenza and Malê Debalê, community organizations that promote and reinforce Black heritage and music. All the while, Menezes will perform her beloved repertory of globally-recognized Bahian styles such as Samba Reggae and Axé, bringing these dynamic genres to grand European stages. Her repertoire also centers a celebration of the Brazilian Northeast and its composers, such as Dorival Caymmi, Jacinto Silva and Jackson do Pandeiro. The artist also will pay tribute to her late collaborator João Donato, one of the principal exponents of Bossa Nova, who passed away in 2023.
